About and privacy
JuniorTrader explains the day’s main market stories for students and junior traders, then helps you remember them: short quizzes, a review deck, the Academy and a market-making simulator.
How stories are made
The JuniorTrader desk follows the main stories in major news outlets and takes its facts from primary sources (central banks, statistics agencies, regulators and exchanges) and reputable reporting. Stories are written with AI assistance from those sources only: the desk may not add a figure the sources don’t give, and every story links the sources it used.
Views are paraphrased and attributed only where a source shows who holds them, and quotes are never invented. When sources disagree, the official figure wins or both are given. Levels recorded during the day say when they were recorded.
The desk rates each story from 1 to 5 for its likely effect on markets. Stories rated 4 or 5 are marked Major and lead the front page; within the same rating, newer stories come first.
Market data
Prices on the tape and the Data page are delayed and come from free public feeds (Yahoo Finance and Stooq) and, for government bond yields, the official publishers (US Treasury, Bank of England, Bundesbank and Japan’s Ministry of Finance). Prediction-market odds come from Polymarket and are the only figures labelled live. Data can be late or wrong; check a primary source before relying on it.
Your data
You don’t need an account. Your progress, review deck, saved stories and settings are stored in this browser on this device, and are not sent to us. Export them in Settings to move to another browser, or reset them there.
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to run and protect the service. Notifications, if you turn them on, are shown by the open app and nothing about you is sent to a server.
Not investment advice
JuniorTrader is for learning. Nothing here is investment, financial or trading advice, and the trade calls, debates and simulator are practice. Markets carry risk, and past moves don’t predict future ones.
